During a race we are all stronger as a member of a team, even if this just means having somebody to help carry your Energy Gels.
This year we are joined by 3 Teams from the DLR Social. These runners have recently completed a Zero To 5K Challenge with Hilary and James and will also have completed a number of parkruns. In a lot of cases, this will be their first competitive race, so we would like to welcome them to the team and wish them the best of luck on the night.

1. Free parking in LUAS car parks after 5:30pm
2. Go to Race HQ (A94X4P0) Holly Ave. for 6:40 pm

5. There will be plenty of marshals along the route to guide you

This year we are continuing our special internal competition to remember our dear friend John Carlin who sadly passed last year. John was a huge supporter of Cabinteely parkrun both as a runner and as a volunteer. The aim of this prize category is to highlight and remember John's contribution.
As you all know, at Cabinteely parkrun we celebrate the first, the last, and everyone in between. This competition is designed to do exactly this. It is not based on race position, but on the % Age Grade each runner achieves during the race. The prizes will be gift vouchers from the The Run Hub
There will be 3 prizes in each gender category, giving a total of 6 prizes overall.
At the end of the race each runners official finish time will be used to calculate their % Age Grade. The age we will use in the calculation will be the lowest age in the category band. For example, a female who is 43 and running in the W40-44 category will use 40 as their age when calculation the % Age Grade.
Luckily, we won’t need to get out the log tables and the slide rule to calculate your % Age Grade score. Runners World have a web base calculator available that we can use. Once we know the highest and lowest value in each gender category, we can then calculate the middle value and the runner closest to this will also receive a prize.
Because of the calculations involved, the result of this competition will not be known on the night but should be announced the following day. Prizes will be distributed at parkrun the following Saturday.
It is probably best not to tell your Mother or your neighbours that you finally won a prize until the results are official released 😊
